WOW! This was a Great book! The emotions that I felt while reading this story were intense. The chemistry between Isabella and Adham was smoking HOT! There were a few times I wanted to smack Adham up side the head, and yell at him. He was all alpha male, and thought feeling love would make him weak. In the end Isabella taught him that their love only made the two stronger.

The story starts out with Isabell wanting just two months to experience life. In two months she had to marry the sheikh to serve her country. All her life she was told what to wear, how to act, what to eat. She was smart, from books, but had no life experiences. She just wanted two months to shop, go to the movies, and go out to a real restaurant. She was never allowed the simple freedoms that so many people take for Granit. She had never done any of those things, and she wanted to do so much. Isabella slipped away from her security detail. Adham caught up too her, and he was ordered to take her to the palace. Adham and Isabella ended up doing some of things on her dream list. He loved the happiness that lit up her face with each new thing she tried. She was full of life, She was innocent, and wore her emotions on her sleeve.

Sample from chapter 2: She closed her eyes against mounting anguish, tried to fight the tears that were threatening. She didn't want him to see how defeated she felt. How could a man who was allowed to do whatever he wanted, a man who roamed the world, lived by his own rules, possibly understand the preciousness of two months and ten days' worth of freedom?

Sample from chapter 5 - "Sometimes people miss beauty because it's buried in everyday objects. But none of this exploration is every day to me." He laughed softly, his breath hot against her cheek. "There is certainly nothing everyday about you."

Sample from chapter 7 - she was so hot inside. Burning. Emotions were at war with desire, a desire that was growing quickly into a need as powerful as her need for food. Water. Breath.

Another sample from chapter 7 - "Adham." She lifted her head, her blue eyes intent on his. She leaned in and pressed her lips lightly to his, only for a moment, her movements shy, her inexperience evident. He held himself still, kept his fists clenched. Because if he allowed himself any sort of free rein he would tunnel his fingers through her hair and devour her mouth, as he had longed to do since the first moment he'd seen her.

The Inherited Bride Maisey Yates Maisey Yates 9780263886344 Books Reviews

I admit, I was prepared to hold my nose and find something nice to say about this, as I am now (full disclosure) Twitter friends with Ms. Yates. And, Harlequin - when I hear Harlequin, I think of fainting damsels and coy euphemisms.

Against my prejudices, I *loved* this book. The first paragraph was a little clunky, IMO, but I actually believed in both protagonists. The heroine was sheltered and naive, but NOT a dumb bunny. The hero had reasons for his hang-ups, and I felt there was a wonderful shift at the halfway mark that was plausible and still meant, oooh, forbidden love.

The sex scenes were deliciously hot. And, I am a sucker for a HEA.

Buy this book, you will enjoy it as much as I did.The Inherited Bride (Harlequin Presents Extra)
This story has everything I love in a romance...

Strong heroine. Though Isabella is only 21 and has lived a sheltered life, she's not some timid woman. After all, it takes courage to turn your back on your upbringing in an attempt to discover yourself. She's decided to seize what small bit of life for herself that she can before doing her duty.

Strong hero. Adham isn't just strong though, he's fierce--in the knee-weakening, heart-throbbing, take-me-home-now kind of way. Nothing has ever tempted him away from duty until Isabella came along.

Combine great characters and beautiful setting with a plot involving royalty and duty (fondly recalling me to my all-time favorite Romance genre Regencies), oh, and let's not forget amazing sexual tension and beautiful love scenes and The Inherited Bride is a winner.

So, what happened to the other star? Well, I would have like just a tad bit more of Adham's backstory and there were places the writing could have been smoother. But these are probably things most readers wouldn't even think twice about especially when considering the very beautiful, almost poetic sentences, sprinkled throughout the story that do nothing but warm the heart and leave the reader thinking, "Wow, I want this in my life?"

Disclaimer I won my copy from the author via Twitter.
I loved this story and have can't wait to read more of this authors books. I have also told my friends to buy this story.
I think the other reviews do a good job of summarizing and describing the storyline. I found this book to be an enjoyable read. The hero is sweet and has led a sheltered life, but she's strong and willing to self-sacrifice to do the right thing. The hero is dark and sexy, and a good guy lurking under a somewhat rough and troubled exterior. There's a good flow to the story, and the romance feels like a natural progression. I kept wondering how things were going to work out, and that's a rare thing indeed, for this type of romance. Based on this book, I will definitely look for more by this author.
I really had a lot of sympathy for our very sheltered h and the H's attitude was really mean in the beginning. It was a good story though and I couldn't put it down. I docked a star for his cold treatment of the h once they got married. The book is well worth reading in spite of him being such an ass at times.
The h was a little annoying in the beginning. The H a bit harsh, but they grew on me. I just wish there had been an epilogue..
H-O-T!!!That's the best way I can describe this book. There is so much sexual tension between Isabella and Adham that you literally just want them to jump into bed and go at it! She's been sheltered all her life and never really allowed to have any freedom so when she escapes her brother's house she tries experience as much freedom as she can, only to be caught the next day by Adham, the brother of her intended groom. I'm not going to get into too much of the story otherwise why read the book? lol Let's just say that if you decide to buy it you won't be sorry!
